Services are severely affected.
Emergency services are attending a “tragic incident” on the railway line between Dublin and Cork.
The train departed from Heuston Station at 1pm on Sunday, but was forced to stop at Portlaoise due to the incident.
Severe delays to services are to be expected between Heuston, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, in both directions.
Irish Rail announced the news on Twitter on Sunday afternoon:
“13:00hrs Heuston Cork has been involved in a tragic incident at Portlaoise. Expect severe disruption to services between Heuston & Cork, Kerry & Limerick in both directions.”
