An Irishman in Canada has been missing since Friday afternoon, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

The man, who had been living and working in Canada, went diving with friends in Beaver Creek on Friday. Panic ensued when the man failed to resurface after a dive. A search for the man is now underway. According to CBC, Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau said the man is presumed to have drowned. The man's name has not been publicly released, but the Irish Times has revealed that he is 26, and from the west of Ireland. The RCMP has been in touch with the man's family, who are now en route to Canada.
