A memorial to the late Joseph Deacy was vandalised during the week, just days after the one-year anniversary of his death.
21-year-old Deacy, pictured above right, suffered severe head injuries and died in Beaumont Hospital in County Dublin on Sunday, 13 August.
He was visiting friends and family in Kiltimagh, County Mayo last year on a two-week holiday.
Deacy returned to the house he was staying at in Gortnasillagh before his body was found in the driveway of the house at 6.45am on the morning of Saturday 12 August.
An arrest was made earlier this summer. A man in his 20s was later released without charge.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, a memorial to Deacy on the N5 outside Bohola in County Mayo appeared to have been vandalised, with wreaths and flowers laid in Deacy’s memory removed and scattered.

According to Midwest Radio, Gardaí are appealing to the public for information.
