An emotional video has captured the moment a man was reunited with his lost dog after his home was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires.
The moving footage was shared on Instagram by NBC News journalist Liz Kreutz on Sunday as the man, called Casey Colvin, returned to his block in the Pacific Palisades.
He had returned to the area to search for his dog, who had reportedly been spotted in the rubble by a local.
As you can see in the video, Casey is beside himself with joy as he's reunited with his canine companion.
According to Kreutz, Oreo had been sleeping in the rubble of a neighbour's home for the last five days. During this time, Casey had left food and water near his house to help Oreo survive. It's unclear whether the dog survived on this or found other food and water.
The Los Angeles fires have devastated entire communities, ravaging thousands of acres of land.
The Palisades fire has been the biggest, burning through more than 23,000 acres and killing at least 16 people since it started last Tuesday.
In total, the death toll from the fires stands at 24, with another 23 people missing.
The Palisades fire is still only 14 per cent contained, and there are concerns over forecasted strong winds which could cause "explosive fire growth." LA Mayor Karen Bass has warned the winds are predicted to be "close to hurricane level."
