Gardaí attended the scene and located the body of a woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s inside the dwelling.

The body of a man in his 60s was also discovered outside at the rear of the dwelling. All three bodies have gunshot wounds.

A firearm was also recovered at the scene.

The three people whose bodies were found at the scene have now been named locally as Eileen O'Sullivan, Mossie O'Sullivan and their 24-year-old son Jamie O’Sullivan.
