It seems that not looking your best on a night out can get you a lot more than you bargained for

We've all had those nights where you might not feel too bothered about what you wear when you head out to the pub with the lads, so you throw on that old looking battered jumper, don't bother to shave and walk out the door. Very few of us have then had a similar experience to one particular lad outside Coppers earlier this week, when he was mistaken for a homeless person by another reveller who had indulged in a few too many shandy drinks. Those beverages had him feeling particularly generous, and instead of getting a taxi home, he gave his €50 to a homeless man to get a bed and breakfast for the night. Or, at least in the state he was in he thought he was homeless, but it turns out that he was just another lad from the nightclub, who tried to make clear to this generous soul that he didn't need the money, but thanks to a new found spirit of philanthropy, he wasn't hearing any of it, and shoved the money into his hand. Thanks to the magic of Facebook, it seems that both the lads have a mutual acquaintance, which has brought these two stories together on one news feed. homeless mistake It was a nice gesture, anyway. Hat-tip to Alan Duffy for sending this our way on Twitter. If you'd like to make a donation to help homelessness in Ireland, volunteer, or just learn more about it, visit The Simon Communities
