A man in his 20s has died in a crash on a Cork motorway.
The fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision occurred at approximately 6.50am this morning, Wednesday, August 20, on the M8 (J18) road Southbound, Upper Riverstown, Glanmire.
The man was brought by ambulance to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead this afternoon.
The road remained closed this afternoon for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area between 6.40am and 7.15am this morning are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Mayfield Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any Garda Station.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
