Shocking stuff.
A man has been hit with a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice, a €400 fine and a 6 month disqualification relating to offences on the road.
The man, who was pulled over by An Garda Síochána in Wicklow, was stopped on suspicion of drink-driving. When Gardaí approached the car, it was apparent that the man was driving with an infant as a passenger. The child was in a car seat but “unrestrained,” according to Gardaí.
The incident occurred in Arklow.
In a statement on Facebook, An Garda Síochána further confirmed that “the child was taken to safety” and that “Tusla were notified and a file is being prepared relating to this aspect of the case.”
Gardaí also shared a photo of the car seat online.
