He strangled her with lace
A man has confessed to killing his mother live on TV as he spoke to a journalist outside his home.
Lorenzo Carbone, a 50-year-old man from Italy, admitted to the journalist that he had strangled his mother at his home in Spezzano di Fiorano, Modena, in northern Italy.
The journalist, Fabio Giuffrida, spotted Carbone outside his house and questioned him on the incident.
Carbone subsequently broke down into tears as he confession to the crime while being broadcast live on Italian TV programme Pomeriggio 5.
Police were called after the admission, with the 50-year-old taken into custody.
The victim, his mother, Loretta Levrini, was an 80-year-old woman, was found dead in bed by her daughter on Sunday afternoon.
Carbone was reported saying: “I couldn’t stand it any longer, I couldn’t manage her.
“I don’t know why I did it.”
He explained he used lace to carry out the strangling after attempting different methods.

After the woman’s body was found, Carbone was immediately suspected of the crime, causing firefighters and drones to search for the man.
Italian paper said La Repubblica reported that Carbone then showed up outside his home 24 hours later, with a ‘willingness to surrender’ as per the journalist who interviewed him.
“Never would I have thought I would find myself in front of an alleged killer,” Giuffrida said.
“At one point I noticed a man who was nearing the entrance, he was sweating, he was in a state of confusion,” he added.
The journalist then asked him who he was, to which Carbone replied: “It’s me”.
Carbone’s mother is due for a post-mortem examination in the coming days.
