Man in critical condition following car crash in Longford

Gardaí are looking for witnesses to an incident in Longford that has left one man in critical condition.

The man, who Gardaí say is 34 years of age, was driving on the on the R392 at Foigha, near Ballymahon, when his car left the road and struck a ditch. The incident occurred at around 6.30pm yesterday (30 June).

Emergency services treated the man at the scene before he was removed by ambulance to Tullamore Hospital. According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, the man’s condition is currently understood to be critical.

The scene is preserved and investigating Gardaí have requested the services of Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to examine the car and crash site. Local diversions were put in place on the R392 Ballymahon to Lanesborough Road between Terelicken and Derryhaunbeg.
