Man dies after road traffic collision in Cork

The single vehicle road traffic collision occurred in Ballincrokig, Cork.

Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred on the Glenville Road, Ballincrokig, Cork.

The incident occurred on the morning of Sunday, 15 December at approximately 2:45am.

The driver of the car, a male in his 20s, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Gardaí said that the vehicle left the road and hit a wall. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body has been removed to the morgue at Cork University Hospital for a post mortem. The road remains closed and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are examining the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for any person who may have any information, or any road users who may have travelled the road from 2:30am – 5:30am this morning that may have camera footage, to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021 455 8510.
