A man has died after suffering fatal injuries during a stabbing incident in Waterford.
The incident occurred at Shanakiel in the coastal town near Dunmore East. The crime scene has been preserved for a forensic examination.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene within minutes of being contacted but the man, who is in his mid 20s, later died from his wounds at University Hospital Waterford.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held at Waterford Garda Station.
