Tragic news.
A man in Donegal has died after a tree fell on a car during Storm Éowyn.
At around 5.30am on Friday (24 January), Gardaí were alerted to a serious road traffic incident at Feddyglass in Raphoe.
Subsequently, Gardaí and local emergency services attended the scene where, during the storm, a tree fell on a car.
A male driver was fatally injured during the incident.
“Gardaí are working with local authority and third-party contractors to facilitate the removal of the remains of the deceased from the scene,” a Garda spokesperson said.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
