A zoo worker in Spain is in hospital after a practice drill went terribly wrong the other day. That would all be grand if everyone working in the zoo was aware of what was going on. La Opinion de Tenerife reports that the King Kong look-alike was going through the motions when a vet, who was clueless to the practice drill, spotted him and decided to shoot him in the leg with a tranquiliser gun!
It wasn’t just any old tranquiliser gun either, the gun and it’s dart-dose is designed to subdue a 400-pound gorilla and to make things worse, the man had an allergic reaction to the dose and was taken to University Hospital of the Canary Islands, where thankfully he’s made a full recovery.
What have we learned from this story? If you are thinking of dressing up as an animal, stay away from your local zoo or wildlife park.
