La Opinion de Tenerife reports that the King Kong look-alike was going through the motions when a vet, who was clueless to the practice drill, spotted him and decided to shoot him in the leg with a tranquiliser gun!
It wasn't just any old tranquiliser gun either, the gun and it's dart-dose is designed to subdue a 400-pound gorilla and to make things worse, the man had an allergic reaction to the dose and was taken to University Hospital of the Canary Islands, where thankfully he's made a full recovery.
What have we learned from this story? If you are thinking of dressing up as an animal, stay away from your local zoo or wildlife park.
