Man killed in fatal traffic collision in Carlow

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the R726, on the Tullow to Carlow Road (approximately 5kms from Tullow) at approximately 6.15pm this evening (Tuesday 30 April).

A male in his 20s, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided with another car.

The driver of the second car, a male in his 50s, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle, was injured and removed to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The road is currently closed for a Garda forensic examination.
