This “high strength MDMA” bears a particular logo.
The HSE has issued a drug warning after identifying that MDMA “two times the average dose” is being circulated at Electric Picnic.
According to the health service, this type of “high strength MDMA” takes the form of a purple pill that bears a skull logo similar to that of the Marvel anti-hero character The Punisher.
In a statement on social media, the HSE wrote: “High strength MDMA in circulation in EP festival.
‘All MDMA has risk’
“Contains 246mg, which is two times the average dose. All MDMA has risk, you can’t be sure of contents or purity. It’s safer not to use drugs at all.
“Treat all products with caution and don’t be afraid to get medical help.”

The health service has re-teamed with the festival taking place in Laois this weekend in order to carry out real-time, anonymous testing of illegal drugs at the event.
The plan is to provide up-to-date information regarding the safety and strength of drugs that may be in circulation.
The drugs in question can be dropped off at “surrender bins” and are not returned for use.
