It also said there is a “risk of localised flooding” over the Saturday and Sunday.

There will be temperatures of up to 20 degrees this weekend but also thunderstorms, according to Met Éireann’s forecast.

The national forecaster says it will be mostly cloudy on Saturday morning, with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

While some bright spells will develop over the day, there will be also showers, with some heavy and possibly of hail.

According to Met Éireann, there is a risk of thundery downpours in places, that could lead to some localised flooding.

Temperatures will range from 17 to 20 degrees in mostly light to moderate winds.

Sunday will have some bright spells, but also showers again – many of which will be heavy.

Scattered thunderstorms are likely, bringing the risk of localised flooding.

That said, drier conditions will develop in the west and southwest over the day.

Temperatures will range from 17 to 19 degrees generally, with winds to be mostly light to moderate.

However, it will be cooler in west and southwest coastal areas, with temperatures there around 15 or 16 degrees.

According to the forecaster, the weather will remain unsettled for much of next week with showers and spells of rain.
