A nationwide low temperature warning is in effect, after Met Éireann updated their status yellow warning on Tuesday morning.
The second snow and ice warning inside 24 hours was issued between 4am on Tuesday morning and midnight, with the west and north of the country expected to be the worst affected areas.
The latest warning notes that it will get extremely cold after dark on Tuesday and into daytime on Wednesday, with air temperatures falling back to -3 or -4 degrees.
The low temperature warning is in effect from Tuesday 4pm until Wednesday at 4am.
