That's how he got the job in the first place... On October 26, the Irish public will go to the polls to decide whether or not to elect incumbent President Michael D. Higgins. The veteran politician and public servant will be going up again three businessmen and reality TV stars (Gavin Duffy, Sean Gallagher and Peter Casey) as well as Senator Joan Freeman and Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ní Riada. The Michael D. Higgins merchandise online shop went live earlier on Friday, selling t-shirts, badges, bags and bumper stickers. However, such was the demand for some of the products that the most fashionable t-shirt sold out in a matter of hours. At just €15, they were flying of the shelves. The t-shirt design mimics the popular Supreme brand t-shirt design: Michael D. Higgins The t-shirt sold out in all sizes just hours after going on sale, but Miggledy fans need not worry.
