Snow warning issued for 11 Irish counties as ‘accumulations possible’

Temperatures are set to fall to -1 degrees this weekend as well.

Set to be valid from 9pm on Thursday (12 March) to 9am on Friday, the alert applies to Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Leitrim, Limerick, Mayo, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, and Wicklow.

It reads: "Showers may fall as sleet or snow with some accumulations possible, mainly on high ground.

"Possible Impacts: Poor visibility, difficult travelling conditions."

A Status Yellow rain warning for all of the Republic of Ireland and a Status Yellow wind warning for 21 counties are currently in effect.

They are scheduled to last until 6pm and 3pm on Thursday, respectively.

Temperatures are also set to drop to zero degrees on Thursday night and -1 degrees on Friday.
