Met Éireann named the counties at risk of flooding

The rain warning runs from 7am to 2pm on Saturday 24 October.

On the other hand, the wind warning follows from 2pm that day until 9am on Sunday 25 October.

From 4am to 3pm on Saturday, yellow rain warnings cover Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Limerick and Leitrim.

Across Connacht, Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Donegal, separate yellow wind warnings apply.

These warnings continue into Sunday.

Storm Boelo orange warning brings flooding risk and event disruption

According to Met Éireann, this weekend there is an increased risk of flooding.

The ground is saturated from Storm Austen, and Met Éireann is forecasting further heavy rain across the south and west of the country.

The forecaster warned: "Smaller rivers across the country have the biggest risk of flooding quickly as they will take the shortest time to overflow, whereas larger rivers may take longer to rise."

Due to the storm, Galway Races organisers have rescheduled Saturday's National Hunt card.

The Irish Times reported that organisers in Kerry, meanwhile, have cancelled events outright.

Cleanup from Storm Austen continues as Boelo closes in

Following the effects left by Storm Austen, council crews were still clearing fallen trees in several counties on Friday.

Overnight, Dublin Airport recorded more than 20mm of rain.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland has its own yellow warning from the UK Met Office.

That warning starts at 6pm on Saturday as Storm Boelo's wind and rain move north.
