“I am looking for you, I will find you” – Micheal Healy-Rae pens message to Dublin bike thief

Strong words from the Kerryman.

Michael Healy Rae has taken to Twitter to share a threatening message to the person who stole his bike on Wednesday afternoon.

The Independent TD told Twitter that his bicycle was stolen after he left it outside the passport office in Dublin while he had been running some errands. He had left the bike unlocked while on his travels.

The passport office in Dublin is located on Molesworth Street, Dublin 2.

In his post, he expressed that he was “looking for” the person responsible, expressing strong beliefs that he will find them and give them a piece of his mind.

“A message to the thief that stole my bike outside the passport office in Dublin this morning. I am looking for you, I will find you and it will be a sorry day for you that you ever decided to mess with me and my property,” the tweet read.

A number of people have picked up on the similarities between Healy-Rae’s tweet and Liam Neeson’s famous speech from Taken and, inevitably, have replied to him with a number of memes of that ilk.

According to records from two years ago, 14 bikes are stolen on the streets of Dublin every day. This adds up to around 5,000 every year.

However, things aren’t looking good for the TD, as it appears that some 96% of bikes are never recovered, according to the Irish Times.

If only Healy-Rae managed to pull it out of the bag and catch the thief in the act, like this guy. Looks like the Dublin bike thief will live to steal another day.
