A Child Rescue Ireland (CRI) alert has been cancelled after a missing mother of three and her children were found safe and well in Enniskillen.

Fiona Gregg, 41, and her three children, Killian, eight, Elisha, six, and Derbhla, two, were last spotted leaving a school in Ballyforan, Roscommon on Wednesday evening. A CRI alert was issued by gardaí early on Thursday morning, but it was cancelled within the last hour as the family have been found safe and well.

It’s only the second time that a CRI alert has been issued by Gardaí in Ireland since the policy was launched back in 2012.

According to the BBC, “The alerts are only launched where a child is under the age of 18, where there is a reasonable belief that the child has been abducted or where there is a reasonable belief that there is an immediate and serious risk to the health or welfare of a child.”

Gardaí have thanked the public and the media for their support and help in the case, but they’ve now asked that the family’s privacy be respected following the search.
