The incident took place yesterday afternoon.

A motorcyclist (60s) has died after a crash in County Waterford.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon, April 12, on the R634 Ballydasoon on the Cork-Waterford border.

Emergency services and Gardaí responded to the collision just before 2pm.

The man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His remains were transferred to Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

A man in his 50s was driving the car, he was transported to Cork University Hospital.

Traffic diversions remain in place as the scene is examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí have issued an appeal to anyone with information, particularly road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area at the time, to contact Midleton Garda Station at 021-4621550, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
