Eight Covid-19 deaths went unreported between April and June.
The National Public Health Emergency Team has confirmed that nine more people have died due to Covid-19 in Ireland. However, it was noted at this evening's briefing that eight of those cases were reported in the last 24 hours as the result of a delay, and that eight of the nine deaths occurred between April and June.
The latest figures bring Ireland's total known death toll to 1,772.
Additionally, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre confirmed that seven further cases of the virus had been diagnosed in Ireland. Ireland's official total of Covid-19 cases now stands at 25,833.
Earlier today, Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly noted that Ireland's R0 number had fallen once again, and is now somewhere between 1 and 1.4.
Professor Phillip Nolan, Chair of the NPHET Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, also noted that cases among healthcare workers are decreasing, as are travel-related cases.
