The incident took place at a family gathering.

Four people have been confirmed dead following a shooting in Fresno, California on Sunday night. It is believed that a group of family and friends were watching an American football game when one or more people snuck in and began shooting.

10 people were shot in total and some of the victims of the shooting were in critical condition at hospitals, while some are listed as stable, police told NBC News.

The shooter or shooters are still on the loose, with police currently canvassing the area. Police said: "Officers and detectives are canvassing the area searching for witnesses and anyone with surveillance cameras that may have captured the suspect(s)." This comes less than a week after another mass shooting took place at a high school in California, in which three people were killed.
