Afraid of flying? Then you might want to look away now.

Passengers on a Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Jaipur suffered from nosebleeds, bleeding from the ears and headaches, according to the Times of India.

Of the 166 people on board, as well as five crew members, 30 passengers complained of distress and were given first aid upon arriving at the terminal. Eight people were hospitalised.

Lalit Gupta, a senior official of India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) explained the nightmarish scenario by claiming that the plane’s crew had forgotten to select a switch to maintain cabin pressure. Footage from inside the plane also shows that oxygen masks were deployed.

As a result, the plane was forced to return to Mumbai.

A statement by Jet Airways confirmed that all passengers landed safely, but that “first aid was administered to few guests who complained of ear pain, bleeding nose, etc.”

The statement further confirmed that the cockpit crew has now been “taken off scheduled duties pending investigation.”

Several social media users who were aboard the plane shared photos of the incident on Twitter, including pictures of their own nosebleeds.
