A pedestrian has died following a road collision in Meath

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the R162 Navan to Nobber road shortly before 10.30pm on Thursday 11 October 2018.

A pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was fatally injured when he was involved in a collision with a car.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Our Lady’s Hospital Navan where a post-mortem will be carried out.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was uninjured.

The road at the scene of the crash is closed to facilitate an examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

This brings the number of traffic fatalities in Ireland in 2018 so far up to 115.
