Pic: A cloudless Ireland looks pretty sweet from space today

One last hurrah for summer before the cold and misery sets in over the coming months.

One last hurrah for summer before the cold and misery sets in over the coming months.

The weather in Ireland is notoriously unpredictable but there are two things you can set your watch by: 1) That the weather is absolutely guaranteed to be nice on the first day of the Leaving Cert and 2) another fine spell will inevitably arrive when third level students begin to return to college.

It’s no surprise then that the weather has been pretty sweet this week as third-level colleges across the country open for business once again.

You’ll be glad to hear that we’re going to have a pretty fine day again today with temperatures in the high teens and early twenties, according to Met Eireann and BBC weatherman Barra Best, who posted this glorious view of Ireland from space this morning.

Enjoy while it lasts folks.
