That’s some fine caption work right there, damn fine caption work.
Have a scan through any Irish local newspaper and you’ll realise the amount of work that goes into it on a weekly basis. The majority of local publications throughout Ireland are normally filled with pictures of events that have taken place in the days and weeks prior to publication, meaning that whoever is in charge of the photo captions always has plenty of work to do. We can only imagine then, that a picture of Fine Gael TD on a recent visit to Achill was one of the last images that came to the attention of the caption editor in The Mayo News this week, as you’ll see that the text underneath the image below was a little light on details.
