Incredible picture as Chinese man has new nose grown on his forehead

Now that’s a nose job.
This story is really about marvelous advances in medicine but it is hard not to be simply stunned by the picture and nothing else. According to a report in the Mirror a young Chinese man, named only as Xiaolian, suffered a nasal injury in a car accident and failed to get it treated. This resulted in an infection damaging the cartilage. Surgeons in the hospital in Fuzhou took the decision that they could replace Xiaolian’s nose, if they grew a new one for him. To do that they took some skin tissue expanders shaped like a nose and, supported by cartilage from his ribs, stuck it on his forehead. The nose has developed well, as you can see, and they hope to transplant it from his forehead to the right place soon.
Incredible stuff, leaving the only question, could they not have grown it in a more discreet place?
