To be fair to Gary Lineker, he’s one of the more entertaining personalities on Twitter and apart from his annoying spats with Piers Morgan he can be relied upon for fairly amusing posts poking fun at various football personalities without ever really going over the top.
He was caught out last night, however, when having a go at former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner after the Dane scored twice in Wolfsburg’s victory over FC Krasnodar in the Europa League.
Given his rather undistinguished history in the Premier League, Lineker could be forgiven for expressing surprise at Bendtner’s scoring exploits, but he was put back in his box fairly lively when Bendtner got around to sending a reply.
