Pic: Very sound landlady in Dublin slashes December rent as Christmas gift for her tenants

If only all landlords and landladies were as kind as this.

If only all landlords and landladies were as kind as this.

With rents on the rise throughout the country, tenants have really been feeling the pinch of late and probably will feel it even more so in the coming weeks what with all the socialising and gift-buying to be done over Christmas.

At least one landlady in Dublin has a little sympathy for her tenants, however, after sending this message to one JOE reader instructing her to take €150 off her monthly direct debit (rent is normally €850) this month to give her a little relief over the Christmas.

Given the rental situation in Dublin and in Ireland at the moment, some will probably say that the landlady in question is getting plenty of money as it is, but credit where it’s due for a really nice gesture; the Christmas spirit is alive and well in some folk this festive season.
