Start saving…

The Guinness family’s ancestral holiday home just outside Dublin is now available to buy for anyone willing to fork out a rather considerable sum.

The 5000 acre Luggala estate is located near Roundwood in Wicklow and over the years has hosted the likes of the Beatles and Michael Jackson.

With seven bedrooms, four bathrooms, a guesthouse and five lodges, the house was originally built by the Huguenot La Touche family of Greystones. The estate was bought by Ernest Guinness in 1937, who bought it for his daughter Oonagh as a wedding present.

Now, the estate is up on Daft.ie and could be yours providing you have €28 million in disposable income.

What will you get for your money?

According to the advert:

“House accommodation 7,438 square feet or 691 square metres with three reception rooms, seven bedrooms and four bathrooms.
“Guest House accommodation 3,207 square feet or 298 square metres with two reception rooms, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Further accommodation offered throughout the estate within seven lodges or cottages.
“In all 1,521 square metres or 16,379 square feet of accommodation provided throughout the estate and comprising 27 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms.”

That’s not to mention the 5,000 acres of land that come along with it.
