Called Petra, this baby is the reason we are under an Orange Weather Warning yet again.

While it is a beautiful morning on the east coast of Ireland, the day is going to take a turn for the worse real soon. In what seems like a weekly occurance now, the Atlantic is about to deliver yet another storm onto our shores later today.

This one is called Petra and the folks at Met Eireann have issued an Orange Weather Warning for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow, Meath, Cork, Kerry and Waterford. Later today and tonight, winds will gust up to 115kph and this combined with large waves and high tides will cause yet more coastal flooding.

Rivers, already swollen by the heavy rain of recent weeks, are also a flood risk as yet more heavy rain will pour onto the already saturated water table.

Here’s a peek at what is headed our way, and it doesn’t look good.
