PICS: Somebody set up a disgusting and dangerous barbed wire trap on a cycling trail in Wicklow

This is nothing short of evil.

Since yesterday, photos have emerged on Facebook of a barbed wire trapped stretched between two trees at neck height on a popular cycling trail in Wicklow.

Website Sticky Bottle have said that somebody set up the trap at Downs Hill, Willow Grove, near Delganey, and that some cyclists had been lucky to avoid injury.

There are now unconfirmed reports of somebody who has fallen victim to the despicable trap, judging by photos posted to Twitter (graphic).

Anyone who knows anything about this offence or the perpetrators is encouraged to contact the Gardaí. Cyclists should also exercise extreme caution if cycling through that part of Wicklow.
