He’s moving fast.
Pope Francis has been on the move since he first arrived at Dublin Airport at around 10.30am this morning.
Following some brief words on the tarmac with some selected people, he made his way to Áras an Uachtarain for an audience with President Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins, to sign the visitor’s book and plant a ceremonial oak tree.

He spent some time signing the visitors’ book in the Áras, and this is what he wrote.

From what we can make out, this is what he said.
“With gratitude for the warm welcome I have received, I assure you and the people of Ireland of my prayers that Almighty God may guide and protect you all.”
Pope Francis is now in Dublin Castle where he will meet with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
