Ralph Fiennes in favour of Cillian Murphy playing Voldemort in new Harry Potter show

Speculation over who will play each character has been flying ever since the series was announced.

Ralph Fiennes has given his seal of approval to Cillian Murphy to take on the role of Voldemort in the new Harry Potter TV series.

People are convinced that the Oscar winner is set to play the role in the upcoming HBO series.

As soon as the HBO TV reboot of the famous film series was announced, people have been wondering which actors would be joining the cast.

Speaking on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Fiennes, who played He Who Must Not Be Named from 2005-2011, was asked about Cillian Murphy taking on the role.

The 61-year-old responded: “Cillian is a fantastic actor. That’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favour of Cillian. Yeah.”

The adaptation has received a mixed response from fans, with some saying they will completely boycott the show over JK Rowlings transphobic views which sparked major backlash and online discussion.

Other fans are excited about the latest developments, as speculation grows over who will take on the iconic characters including Harry, Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore.

In the film franchise, several actors played the role of Lord Voldemort at different stages of his life in the film franchise.

Fiennes, was the most notable and was completely transformed and unrecognisable as the spine-chilling character.

Regarding the future TV show, lots of people have expressed their wish for the Peaky Blinders and Oppenheimer star from Cork be the next Voldemort.

Other strong contenders people are hoping for a Ralph Fiennes return, as well as Batman legend, Christian Bale.
