So much has happened in Irish society during 2016 that it's easy to forget some of the biggest events and stories from the past 12 months. Here are some of the biggest stories on JOE during May.

It was, according to the An Garda Síochana Facebook page, “probably one of the highest speeds the Naas Traffic Corps have come across” and as a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) was not an option in this case, the driver was summoned to appear in court. Just when we think that people's attitudes towards mental illness are changing for the better, along comes a story that reminds you how far we need to go.
