A big win…

According to a report in the Sunday World, the EuroMillions jackpot was won by a syndicate of 22 Dublin Bus workers.

The €23,845,060 jackpot was won on Friday night and it was revealed that the winning ticket was sold in Ireland.

The Sunday World spoke to one of the reported winners who said:

“Yeah it was us alright, the syndicate is in Broadstone and there are 22 of us.

“We haven’t all spoken to each other yet so I’m not even sure how much we will walk away with.

“I only got a phone call at about 2.30pm from this guy I know, congratulating me, so I went down to the garage to see what the story was and some of the lads were there jumping around. Some of the others were in shock.

“Nobody  really knows what is going on, to be honest.

“We’ve just found out ourselves so we’re all a bit dazed.”

The 22 in the syndicate are said to be made up of Dublin Bus drivers from the North Dublin Broadstone garage.

However, there’s be no confirmation from the National Lottery on the potential win, but yesterday they publicly urged the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it safe.

It’ll be next week before they reveal when and where the ticket was sold.
