Commuters – take note.

A farmers’ protest in Dublin involving a large amount of tractors is set to disrupt commuters for the second day running.

The protest began on Tuesday when as many as 100 tractors travelled from various parts of the country to Leinster House as farmers seek better prices for agricultural produce, as well as more attention for what they believe is a crisis in Ireland’s agricultural sector.

Gardaí have warned that the protest is set to continue into Wednesday morning, with a number of streets being closed down as a result.

Kevin Street, Cuffe Street, Kildare Street, Merrion Square South, Dawson Street and Merrion Row are all currently closed, with diversions set in place to facilitate the flow of traffic for motorists.

According to AA Roadwatch, St Stephen’s Green, Stephen’s Green East and Stephen’s Green North are also closed, as is Earslfort Terrace and Leeson Street South.

AA Roadwatch has confirmed that these road closures will remain in place for the time being, but that there is no impact on the M50 just yet.

There is also no information regarding when normal services will resume on the roads, but updates will be provided at the GardaTraffic Twitter page, as well as on AA Roadwatch’s website.
