A system outage was to blame for the delays.

Ryanair passengers were left unable to check in ahead of their flights due to a “systems outage” which resulted in delays at airports across Europe.

A number of Ryanair flights arriving at Dublin Airport were delayed this morning, as well other airports across Europe.

In a statement issued to JOE, Ryanair said that flights are now operating as normal, and that the situation is now resolved.

It read: “This morning (14 Sept) we suffered a system outage which caused some short delays at airport check-in and boarding.

“The system has been restored and flights are operating as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused”.

People took to social media to complain about delays in Stanstead Airport, with one Twitter user describing it as “chaos”.

According to RTÉ, many of the people who posted on Twitter complained they could not find their flight bookings on the budget airline’s mobile app or website.
