More changes from Ryanair.

Ryanair has increased its Priority Boarding fees to €7, depending on the flight.

The fee has risen from €5 to €7, with the latter being the maximum you would pay as part of a priority boarding fee.

The latest change comes a week after Michael O’Leary claimed that they may have to get rid of their new luggage policy, which enables customers to pay €5 to avoid having their main cabin bag checked into the hold at the departure gate.

A spokesperson from Ryanair said: “Like all businesses, our optional fees can change unlike our fares which keep coming down. There have been some recent changes as per our list of fees published on our website here.

“Priority boarding, which allows customers to bring two pieces of hand luggage on board with them and board the plane first, costs €5/€6 (depending on the route) at the time of booking and €6/€7 (depending on the route) when added to a booking.”

This is one of many adjustments that Ryanair have made to their policy in recent time, one of which being that you must now check-in in a 48 hour period, or you must pay a €5 fine.

The airline also introduced a new cabin bag policy that stated that:

  • Only Priority Boarding customers (including Plus, Flexi Plus & Family Plus) will be allowed to bring two carry-on bags on the aircraft*
  • All other (i.e. non-priority) customers will only be allowed to bring one smaller carry-on bag on board, while their second (bigger) wheelie bag will be placed in the hold (free of charge) at the boarding gate.
  • Ryanair’s new bags policy includes cuts to checked bag fees (from €35 to €25) and an increase in the check-in bag allowance from 15kg to 20kg to encourage more customers to book check-in bags and reduce the volume of carry-on bags.
