Second man dead after another road traffic collision on Irish roads this weekend

The collision happened in Wexford.

Gardaí based in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford are investigating a fatal car crash which occurred at Raheenaskeagh, Oulart, Gorey at approximately 8.30a.m. this morning Sunday (26 May), 2019.

According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, a man in his late 30s died after his car was in collision with another car. He was pronounced dead at scene and his body has been taken to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The driver of the second car, a woman, was injured and removed to Wexford General Hospital.

Gardaí are yet to provide further updates as to the status of the second driver. Neither party has been named by the Gardaí.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are now appealing for anyone with information in relation to the collision to contact Enniscorthy Garda Station on 053 – 9242580, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

It is the second fatal road collision in the last 24 hours. A man in his 20s died in Meath in the early hours of Sunday morning after his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a tractor yesterday.
