Shots fired at a house in Longford

Gardaí in Longford are looking to speak to witnesses after an incident on Wednesday night where shots were fired at a house.

In a statement issued on Thursday evening, Gardaí reported that at 9pm yesterday night a number of shots were fired at a house in Anally Gardens, Longford. Three people were present in the house at the time of the incident but there were no injuries.

Damage was caused to the front door of the house.

A number of Garda units attended the incident and the scene was technically examined.

The shooting follows a separate set of incidents that occurred at the same residence in Corboy, Edgeworthstown in Longford last week.

The first incident took place at approximately 10.30pm on Tuesday 4 February during which two shots were discharged.

A single shot was discharged during the second incident, which occurred on Friday 7 February at 12.10pm.
