There’s no end to the bad spell in sight.

Met Éireann have issued a weather warning for Wexford, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford, with winds of up to 110 km/h forecast for Sunday morning and afternoon.

The warning, issued shortly after 4pm on Saturday, came into effect at 1am on Sunday morning and is valid until 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

West to northwest winds with mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h are expected in the counties named above, although gusts could reach as high as 90 to 110km/h in coastal regions.

If you’re only up out of bed you might have missed the worst of it as the strongest winds were expected to make an impact overnight and early on Sunday morning in Munster and south Leinster, with the rest of the country experiencing lighter winds.

Sunday is expected to bring heavy outbreaks of showery rain in the morning before easing up in the afternoon, when it will become brighter and temperatures will rise to a maximum of nine degrees.

They’re set to drop back down again at night, however, with temperatures as low as 0 to 3 degrees expected on what will be another cold night; Monday won’t be much warmer but it is forecast to be bright for the most part, with scattered showers and fresh northwesterly winds.
