Hats off to Niamh Gilleece. Ahead of Real Madrid’s semi-final encounter with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last night, the Dublin lass placed a bet of €4 at 200/1 that the Galacticos would wallop the German champions 4-0, a result which remarkably came to pass and one which bagged her a very tidy sum of €804.
Not only that, but Niamh (either very generously… or very foolishly) offered to buy “everyone a drink and entry into Coppers” if the bet paid off. You can see Niamh’s original bet, tweet and celebratory dance below and, judging by the rest of her Twitter feed, it seems like she had a brilliant celebratory night out.
