constant supply of weather warnings this week?
Well, you'll never guess what.
Yep, it's time for another one. A big one, this time.
A brand new Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for the entire country, with snow and ice set to dominate proceedings over the next couple of days.
According to the national forecaster, blustery squally showers of hail, sleet and snow with icy stretches on untreated surfaces will lead to hazardous driving conditions on Wednesday night (23 February) into Thursday morning.
Some thunder and lightning is also anticipated.
The nationwide warning is in place from 10pm on Wednesday and will remain in place until midday on Thursday.
With the current state of play very much subject to change, it's worth noting that a separate Status Yellow warning for
Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and
Sligo will come into effect from 8am on Thursday.
This warning notes that very strong and gusty west to northwest winds will be in place.
The warning will be in effect until 6pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has issued a Status Yellow warning of its own for
Antrim, Fermanagh, Tyrone and
Derry.
This warning is now in place and remains valid until 3pm on Thursday.
"Frequent heavy snow showers are expected, along with very gusty winds and a small chance of frequent lightning affecting some places," the Met Office warning states.
