The offices of the Social Democrats has been evacuated following the delivery of a ‘suspicious package’.

The South Frederick Street offices were evacuated as both Gardaí and an army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended the scene.

It is understood that the package was to be delivered to suspend TD Eoin Hayes.

The TD was dramatically suspended from the Social Democrats earlier this week after he lied about when he divested his shares in the controversial company, Palantir.

A Garda spokesperson stated: “Gardaí were alerted to a suspicious package on the grounds of a premises on South Frederick Street, Dublin 2 at approximately 10:30am this morning, Friday, 13th of December 2024.

“Following enquiries, the alert was not found to be credible. Investigations are ongoing,” they concluded.
