Weather warnings for all other parts of the country have now been stood down.

Met Éireann have issued a new status orange snow-ice warning for all 12 counties in Leinster, which were some of the worst affected by the Beast from the East and Storm Emma in recent days.

The warning, issued at 9am on Monday morning, serves notice of the continuing potential for localised flooding due to the thaw, of deep-lying snow remaining in places and of frost and icy conditions on Monday night and again on Tuesday morning.

The warning will remain in place until 10am on Tuesday morning.

While conditions in the coming days won’t resemble the worst of the weather from last week, Met Éireann are still predicting bitterly cold temperatures throughout the week and the possibility of snow in areas of higher ground on Thursday and Friday.
